The LYT Limelight Program

LYT’s Limelight program is an audition-based, one semester immersive theatre arts education program that showcases the talents of emerging high school & young adult performing artists, including LYT Alumni.

Whether it involves crafting realistic props, designing costumes that reflect a character's arc, planning a themed concessions table, or impacting an audience with exceptional storytelling, LYT Limelight students will be at the forefront of creativity, using their artistic gifts to minister for Christ.

Limelight productions expand students’ theatrical knowledge from merely performing onstage to contributing to behind-the-scenes efforts, areas like prop building, publicity, and costume construction. LYT’s Limelight Program provides an immersive learning experience where students can expand their skills and gain hands-on experience in many facets of theatrical production.

These skills go beyond the theatre. Students will learn the importance of resourcefulness, collaboration, teamwork, and problem-solving. These are vital strengths & applicable to success in any chosen career path.

Lighthouse Youth Theatre fosters a supportive community that builds strong teams, enables mutual growth, and ignites artistic expression that points to Christ. Students will have the opportunity to collaborate with like-minded individuals who share their passion, while building enduring friendships and artistic partnerships along the way.

LYT’s Limelight program aims to:

  • Empower teens & young adults with hands-on training in multiple disciplines that will serve them well in any chosen career path

  • Generate seasoned theatre artists, storytellers, and leaders who boldly share their artistic gifts as a bridge to the gospel

  • Foster spiritual growth among our collaborating students and families

  • Produce an edifying, excellent regional production

  • Equip tomorrow’s leaders to transform the world for Christ

  • And above all, bring glory to God, who graciously provides for it all

“Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others,
faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms.” 1 Peter 4:10
